Ted Hargreaves       (Chair - April 27, 2004 - April 20, 2010)

Mr Hargreaves is the Ontario Lakeland Regions Managing partner with BDO Dunwoody LLP. He is also the Finance Chair for the Pro Cathedral Parish as well as Founding Treasurer for the North Bay Soup Kitchen.

     

Mathilde Bazinet       (Commissioner - July 5, 2004 - July 4, 2010)

 

Ms. Bazinet, a lawyer and mediator, is President of MGB & Associates, a conflict resolution firm that she established in 2004. She had previously established the Federal Centre for Conflict Resolution at Justice Canada and served as its Executive Director for eight years. Ms. Bazinet entered the law profession after a successful career in the field of Nursing Education and many years as a senior manager of Health Care Programs and Administration at a community college and university level, as well as within the provincial and federal public service. She previously served as the founding Chair of the North East Local Health Integration Network (NE LHIN) for the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and has also previously served on numerous professional committees, boards and commissions at the local, provincial and federal levels.

     

Carson Fougère       (Commissioner - July 5, 2004 - July 4, 2010)

 

Mr. Fougere is the retired Chief Superintendent - Regional Commander for the Ontario Provincial Police - Northeast Region Headquarters in North Bay. He has been involved with the Air Cadet League of Canada as Director - Ontario Provincial Committee as well as with the St. John Ambulance as Director - North Bay Branch. He is the Chair of the Northeastern Ontario D.A.R.E. Board (Drug Alcohol Reduction Education) and a part time Adjunct Professor at Nipissing University in the Criminal Justice Program.

     

Margaret Hague      (Commissioner - July 5, 2004 - July 4, 2010)

 

Ms. Hague has taught in schools in Ontario, Germany and British Columbia. She was General Manager of LAMBAC, a Community Futures Development Corporation. She has been a founding member of several organizations throughout Ontario including the Northeast Development Network, Manitoulin Trade Fair Association and numerous committees throughout the LaCloche Manitoulin area. In addition, Ms. Hague is a Councillor in the Town of Gore Bay and a Director on the North Channel Marine Tourism Council.

     

Randy Kapashesit      (Commissioner - November 3, 2004 - November 2, 2010)

 

Mr. Kapashesit has been Chief of the MoCreebec Council of the Cree Nation since 1987. Mr. Kapashesit has held positions as Coordinator of the Cree Village Ecolodge, Program Coordinator of the Queen.s University Weeneebayko Program, and Consultant of the Traditional Medicine Study at the Weeneebayko General Hospital. His community involvement includes serving as President of the Weeneebayko Eeyou Association (Charitable Organization) and acting as Board Chair of the Cree Village Ecolodge. In addition, he sits on the Board of the North East Local Health Integration Network (NE LHIN) for the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

     

Jean-Pierre Ouellette       (Commissioner - October 1, 2008 - September 30, 2011)

 

Mr. Ouellette is the Chief Administrative Officer and Clerk for the Town of Cochrane and started his career in municipal government as a Councillor for the former Township of Glackmeyer. He is a Business graduate of Canadore College of AAT of North Bay and has recently completed his accreditation for the designation of Certified Municipal Officer. He is a member of the Marketing and Communications Committee for the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario. He has also served on numerous other Boards and Committees including, the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership . Outdoor Products Committee as Vice-Chair, the Ontario Trillium Foundation . Local Grant Review Team, the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs as Treasurer and Governor, was the founding President of the Polar Bear Riders Snowmobile Club, and was also a member of the MNR Regional Advisory Committee.

     

David Plourde      (Commissioner - July 5, 2004 - July 4, 2010)

 

Mr. Plourde is a self-employed owner/operator of an upholstery, furniture and marine fabrication repair business. He has served on the Kapuskasing Council for over fifteen years and currently holds the position of Chair of the Recreation and Culture Standing Committee and is a member of the Public Works Standing Committee. He is also Chair of the Kapuskasing Citizens Recreation Committee, Beautification Committee, Kapuskasing-Moonbeam Landfill Site Management Board, Kapuskasing Public Library Board, Library and Public Works Construction Committees. Mr. Plourde is currently President of the Kapuskasing Agrium Flyers, Midget AAA, Hockey Team as well as past president and founding member for several other organizations.

     

Donavon Porter      (Commissioner - August 11, 2004 - August 10, 2010)

 

Mr. Porter is a retired principal from the District School Board Ontario North East. He held principalships at Temagami Public School, Cobalt Public School, New Liskeard Public School and Kerns Public School. He has been a member of the Ontario Public School Teachers. Federation and Elementary Teachers. Federation of Ontario. He is also a member of the Ontario Principals. Council. Mr. Porter lives on a hobby farm and enjoys gardening, woodworking and is an avid fisherman. He is interested in local history and has been a volunteer with his local museum.

     

Lad Shaba      (Commissioner - July 5, 2004 - July 4, 2010)

 

Mr. Shaba is a professor at Northern College in Timmins in the Civil Engineering Technology program. He is also the co-coordinator of Civil Technology, Construction Management and Building Inspection Technicians programs at Northern College. A registered professional engineer with specialty in structural, municipal and geotechnical engineering, Mr. Shaba is the owner /president of Shaba Engineering and Testing Services Ltd., based in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. He is a quality control/assurance consultant on the Ministry of Transportation, Ontario highway projects. He served on the Board of Governors of Northern College for six years, and was a member and chair of the Temiskaming District Housing Authority. He was also a member of the provincial committee on Standards and Accreditation for Civil Engineering Technology and Construction Engineering Technician programs. As an avid soccer player, he co-founded the Kirkland Lake Minor Soccer Club and he is currently one of the four Entry Level Soccer referees instructor for the north-eastern Ontario.
