Baggage InformationNorthlander Baggage Policy and InformationThe Northlander does not have a baggage car; therefore, checked baggage service is not available this train. All baggage must be carried on and stored with passengers in the coach. Due to space limitations and for the safety and comfort of our passengers, baggage limit guidelines will be strictly enforced by Ontario Northland personnel. If you are unsure if the size or weight of your baggage is acceptable, please ask one of our Ontario Northland agents to assist you. Ontario Northland personnel are required to monitor and enforce baggage policies at scheduled stops. Please be advised that Ontario Northland personnel may be required to deny passage if your baggage does not meet the requirements. We apologize for any inconvenience. Guidelines for Carry-On BaggageTwo-Piece Limit: Each ticketed passenger is allowed a maximum of two pieces of carry-on baggage. Personal items such as purses, briefcases, laptops, or infant items such as strollers, car seats or diaper bags are not included in this limit. Weight Restrictions: Each carry-on bag may weigh a maximum of 23 kg or 50lbs. Proper weight should be determined prior to boarding at all Ontario Northland stations. Size Restrictions: Each carry-on bag must not exceed the size of a standard suitcase. Proper size dimensions should be determined prior to boarding at all Ontario Northland stations. Visible Tag Required: Each carry-on bag must be visibly tagged with the name, address and destination of the passenger. Passengers may use their own personal identification tags or can obtain an Ontario Northland identification tag from any of our train stations or agencies. Prohibited BaggageControlled or illegal substances are prohibited from carriage on the Northlander. In addition, Ontario Northland cannot carry articles that are improperly packed or too fragile to withstand normal handling. Any item similar to those listed, even if not specifically mentioned here, is prohibited from being carried on board. PetsGuide dogs for visually impaired passengers and all other service animals traveling with passengers with special needs are welcome in the passenger cars. All other animals are prohibited on the train. LiabilityOntario Northland personnel reserve the right to refuse to accept any article that cannot be safely handled or stored in the coaches; or any article that is deemed to be oversized or overweight. Ontario Northland accepts no liability for carry-on baggage, even if Ontario Northland personnel has handled or assisted in loading or unloading the baggage. We accept limited liability for baggage.
