SCRAP IN COCHRANE:

Ontario Northland has for sale approximately 120 imperial tons of scrap metal, located in Cochrane, consisting of 1 box car (ONT 92045), 13 old plain bearing trucks, various old freight car parts and bent posts, several lengths of scrap culvert, scrap OTM (spikes, track bolts and anchors), and scrap rail. All is being sold “AS IS, WHERE IS”. Please submit bid as a price per net ton, scrap rail (approx 25 tons) should be identified as a separate price.

Also, Ontario Northland has for sale 7 vehicles located in Cochrane and 1 forklift. All are being sold “AS IS, WHERE IS”. Please submit bids as a separate price per vehicle:

The highest or any bid will not necessarily be accepted by ONTC. 

Terms and conditions of sale:

  1. All bids must be in Canadian dollars, HST (13%) will be extra.
  2. The above items are being sold “as is, where is”.
  3. The items are to be removed from the Ontario Northland rail yard within 10 business days of being notified by ONTC as the successful bidder.
  4. No Oxy / Acetylene torch work will be allowed on ONTC property.
  5. All dismantling must be performed with the use of shears.
  6. Loaded trucks departing ONTC property will be monitored and movements recorded.
  7. All trucks departing ONTC lands must be scaled at the successful bidders cost and scale tickets supplied to ONTC promptly for each.
  8. All employees of the successful bidder will respect and obey all ONTC requirements in regards to safety while on ONTC property.
  9. A job site briefing will be held at the beginning of the removal.
  10. Upon completion of the removal, a joint inspection of the area will be carried out with a company representative.
  11. Certified cheque for the full amount plus any applicable taxes will be paid prior to the release of the items unless sufficient credit has been established with the Treasurer of Ontario Northland.
  12. The act of submitting a bid to purchase the item above signifies the acceptance of the terms and conditions of sale by the purchaser.
