Niska I - Moosonee to Moose Factory Ferry

The Niska I, Ontario Northland’s 28-metre cargo and passenger ferry between Moosonee and Moose Factory Island, launched in September, 2011. The ferry replaced the Manitou Island II, a cargo-only ferry that had been in service since 1956.

The Niska I is capable of carrying two full-length tractor trailers or eight passenger vehicles, as well as up to 50 passengers. Any street-legal vehicle is eligible to be transported.

The Niska ferry service season began June 14th. We look forward to providing safe and reliable transportation this season.
