Polar Bear Express Schedule Change 2024

 

Effective November 25, 2024, new regulations from Transport Canada will take effect, requiring adjustments to the Polar Bear Express passenger train schedule. These changes are necessary to ensure compliance with updated safety and operational standards.

As we implement these updates, we value your input in determining the best schedule moving forward. Below, we have outlined three schedule options, and we encourage you to select the option that aligns most closely with your needs and preferences.

 

Train Schedule Option 1

  • Maintain similar schedule with full service (passenger, baggage, auto carrier, mail and freight)
  • Earlier Cochrane departure + earlier Moosonee arrival
  • Later Moosonee departure + later Cochrane arrival
  • Maintain service frequency - will support seasonal adjustments

*Connection with the Northlander service achieved on northbound, southbound may require bus connection

  • Leave Moosonee later and arrive to Cochrane later 
  • Maintain service frequency - will support seasonal adjustments
